My Thoughts: As with other books by Max Lucado, this children's book is a powerful rendering of God's truths and is graciously done in a manner that children can enjoy while being educated to the important fact that God Always Keeps His Promises. He always has. He always will.
The book takes stories and events with which children are most likely familiar and retells them in a beautifully scripted text that flows with ease encapsulating the promises of God with you, God helping you, God loving you, etc.
The telling of these stories and the assurance of the faithfulness of God's promise keeping is truly a treasure. Every home with children should have a book like this to instill this truth in the child's heart and mind.
The illustrations are very nicely done. I don't care as much for the "faded" colors on some of them, but they are still quite nice. The book is hardcover and very nicely bound with a ribbon marker affixed to the spine.
I heartily recommend this book.
About the book: Promises from God covers people and promises from the Bible that Max Lucado explores in the adult book. Promises from God weaves the larger narrative of God's Faithfulness. Through the stories of Adam and Eve, Abraham, Joseph, Peter, Paul, and many more, children will learn about the character and nature of God and His unending love for His children. Recommended for ages 4 to 8 years.
