ReplyDeleteMy son goes to summer school every year. He is autistic and it is just easier to keep in a structured environment through out the year.
ReplyDeleteMy nieces like to spend a lot of time playing outside during the summer, which definitely keeps their minds stimulated. Educational programs and books are also great for kids during the summer.
ReplyDeleteFrom the National Geographic Kids website, I learned that Jaguars are the largest of South America's big cats and that the Woolly Mammoth had tusks that were on average 15 feet long. Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteWe are planning one educational day trip a week.
ReplyDeleteI love how vibrant and appealing the kids NG site is! I learned that invertebrates make up 95% of all known animals, and the rings on an earthworm are called annuli.

Loved the giveaways and homework help on the site. Also like that they have animals and places to explore- something for everyone! Gracias for the giveaway, will be sharing this with The Grands for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteI homeschool my kids, so during the summer we plan on continuing our learning in a fun, relaxed way. We will definitely be taking lots of fun educational field trips as well. :)
ReplyDeleteWe visit the library & read a lot.
ReplyDeleteTwo thing I learned: that monarch butterflies return to the same forests each year and Arkansas has the only public diamond mine in the world.
ReplyDeleteMy plan is to allow plenty of time to go for walks and explore nature. My kids loved going on flashlight walks.
ReplyDeleteI liked the dinosaurs and amazing animals on the National Geographic website.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of books and educational toys available and within reach at all times.

Well, we homeschool year-round, so their minds will definitely stay stimulated. We do try to take a little time off in the summer, though, to have some fun!
ReplyDeleteWe've never gotten into Angry Birds here, but I love how National Geographic seems to be taking advantage of pop culture for education! Thanks for sharing this post at the Lifelong Learners Link-Up Party at DesperateHomeschoolers.com!
