My thoughts: This is a delightfully cute, cartoon style book that kids will really get a kick out of.

Mr. Particular just likes things just so and no mess and no muddle and certain types of food are off limits. In short, he is particular. He is finicky. He is set in having things look, feel, and done a certain way - his way.


He is the epitome of every little boy in that he is a caped super hero. This super hero is not a giant of a muscled man. No he is a kid. A boy. A dreaming-visions, strong-minded, little boy. And he is choosy about things and stuff. He is particular. And he is in a group of super-duper-friends who keep the universe safe from bad guys.

Just don't let there be humming because Mr. Particular is very particular about humming.


This is the author's debut children's picture book. I believe Jason Kirschner has a winner here and perhaps it is the beginning of lots of fun stuff for us to look forward to reading.

    Jason Kirshner is also a set designer previously for The Late Show with David Letterman and he lives in New Jersey!

    I learned he enjoys talking with kids about the book and the lessons in each. I love the illustrations. They are very cute.

    My son is autistic so yes I sure do know someone who is finicky and particular. On top of that he comes from a strange family anyway. We are all a bit geeky and nerdy and just down right odd. :P

    I am a noisy person--I like to sing, and I laugh and talk pretty loudly, and listen to music cranked up to a crazy volume. But when I am driving, I want almost absolute quiet, especially if I am in a new place or in heavy traffic. It drives my children crazy because they want to whistle and sing and shout and carry on like we always do, and they just cannot understand why Mom is being so particular about noise just because she is driving in, oh, say rush hour traffic in Atlanta on a Friday!!!

    I learned that Jason is a set designer for television. I also learned that he has designed sets for The Meredith Vieira Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Late Show with David Letterman. How awesome!

    I am super finicky about our towels that hang up in the bathroom. They have to be a certain way or it drives me nuts!

    Jason is a set designer and he's from New Jersey, like me! His wife is a veterinarian and I work at a vets office. Coincidence!

    Yes, my granddaughter. She's 3 and everything as too line up. She will put all her block in a straight line, she will move the chair, on my deck so they are all aligned. She takes after me, haha

    My one son use to be real picky about having the line in the front of his socks to line up just perfect at the tops of his toes. (weird)
