Lovely little books are a wonderful tool to guide the hearts and minds of those little ones toward a spirit of thankfulness. Thank You, Lord, For Everything by P.J. Lyons is just such a little book. Designed for the younger crowd, it is perfectly sized for little ones to hold and carry about with them.

Day is pushing light away,

So begins the day for this cute little bear. Tim Warnes' illustrations are sweet, lively, consisting of soft watercolors that are active and engaging.

Children will learn that being thankful is not just something you express at mealtime or bedtime. It is an all day, everything way of living. I'm reminded that we are called to "give thanks in everything" and to "pray without ceasing." This is a beginning for little ones to learn to do just that.

I think books like this are important for the very young. It is good to teach them early about thankfulness. I love the verses you posted.
