My thoughts: The illustrator, Joshua Dawson, has taken Brian Rock's silly little story about a Martian invasion and brought life to it in cartoon style. Wide-eye, big-head people suddenly sprout mustaches which are in fact the Martians.
I'm guessing the reason the Martian-mustaches are attaching themselves to people is to gather as much ketchup as possible on the mustaches. The Martians want to re-color Mars so it will be red again and they want lots of ketchup to do it.
The little book doesn't teach a lesson. It isn't history-making literature. It is just silly and fun, and children sometimes simply need silly and fun. And more fun will entail as kiddies try to wrap their own tongues around the MMM (Martian Mustache Mischief) tongue twister!
Thanks to Brian Rock for reaching out to Chat With Vera for a review of his little book. I previously reviewed his Deduction Detective which is educational, entertaining, and cute fun.
