My thoughts: Typically board books are for those wee little ones and cover baby animals, sweet thoughts, and other wee-little-one ideas. The American Museum of Natural History has launched a very good "board book" that can be used for that precocious little one to learn his or her ABC's or on into lower elementary school. The ABC factoids are great! What a tremendously fun way to learn about the Universe - planets, stars lunar eclipse, Nebula, etc. Going through the alphabet, each letter presents a different factoid and object: "Orbit - An orbit is the path that an object takes as it moves around another object."

Simply stated facts. Beautifully and strikingly illustrated, the pages will capture the interest and become an object of mental engagement for children, parents, and even class rooms.

I'm quite impressed by this book.

    I think books are very important in the development of a child. I started to read to my children when they were babies. They both love to read now! :)

    I believe that books are very important. Books improve vocabulary and grammar, give insight into the world and to people, and stimulate the imagination. I think that parent's can read to children before they are even born. Even if the child doesn't yet understand the words, (s)he can hear the voices and changes in pitch or cadence. After birth, the child will see the parents reading and enjoying books.

    I think that books are very important for a childs development. I plan to introduce my son to books very early on.

    I find books to be a very important part of development. I provided books for son since birth. He learned his letters at 1 and a half years old and at 2 and a half he is trying to read words
