Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962 and the Bear family celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012! Here the charming and lovable Bear family is once again introducing children to the typical issues and questions that they face every day.
In The Berenstain Bears' Sleepy Time Book, little readers are introduced to a comforting nighttime routine. Brother, Sister, and Honey straighten up, take a bath, brush their teeth, read a bedtime story, and say their prayers before bidding their parents good night. The shorter story length and well-loved characters provide toddlers a perfect introduction to valuable life lessons and routines. Ages 2 to 5 years.
Review: Delightful! In bear country every critter is getting sleepy. It is getting dark. It is about time for bed. Mama and Papa bear help their little ones ready themselves for bed with a routine of putting away toys, bath time, brushing teeth, prayer. Sleep. A delightful little read that will sweetly help little ones as they get themselves ready for sleepy time.
No rush. No fuss. Just pleasant routine and off to slumber land.

About the author: Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike carries on his parents' love of creating Berenstain Bear stories from an area in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which looks a lot like Bear Country.DISCLOSURE: I was provided a complimentary copy by Ideals Children's Books a division of Worthy Publishing to facilitate this review. ReplyDeleteWe love the holiday ones, (Night Before Christmas, Trim the Tree, and The Haunted House)! We also love reading the New Baby and Hug and Make Up! Such cute and adorable stories.
ReplyDeleteWe have a science treasury from the Berenstain Bears that serves as our spine for kindergarten science. That's probably my favorite from them. I tend to find the regular ones a bit wordy for my tastes. This one looks fantastic though. I love just a few words per page! Thanks for sharing this at Booknificent Thursday!
