My thoughts: Just when Dr. Shannon Fraiser thinks she can get her life back on a normal track and begin to love again, tragedy hits on her front lawn. It recalls to her fragile emotions her history when ten years prior her fiancé died in her arms from a gunshot.
But it seems the talented and bright Dr. Fraiser is destined to be tested and tried in a multitude of ways in the upcoming days and weeks. The shooting on her front lawn doesn’t seem random. She learns her father has cancer. Her wayward sister moves in with her. And then Dr. Fraiser is exposed to the deadly HIV.
How much can a person endure? How much can their faith be challenged? How much can the relationship between Shannon and Mark take?
This is a medical suspense. There are bits and pieces of medical jargon and scenes, but this is not an in-your-face ER or Hospital Drama! Written by a retired physician, it rings true to life and professionalism. Dr. Mabry handles the emotional drama with a delicate, yet descriptive and true to life realism.
I’ve reviewed several of Dr. Mabry’s medical suspense novels and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. They are each different and enjoyable on different levels. This is well written Christian fiction bringing plot and character development to the pages of a frankly good read.

My 2 year old son was acting up the other day. My hubby tells him he's hilarious. My 5 year old daughter asks what does hilarious mean. He tells her that it means very funny. She looks at him and says her brother is LOlarious. I guess she didn't think he was funny at all. Ha ha.

DeleteOn Good Friday, my son-in-law returned to base after 9 months on the USS Harry S. Truman. That ended his 7th and last deployment. We are so happy to have him home!

ReplyDeleteMy daughter is part of the area high school plays and musicals, as she was in middle school. It is always a heart tugging moment when the cast are giving their final performances as seniors. Many of them I have known as little kids.....and how they've grown into quite the actors and actresses.....and thinking, this may be the last performance I ever see....hoping they make it big one day, as they have in their middle and high school theatre and drama!
