 My thoughts:  Anita Higman is one of my favorite authors. Well, I have many I enjoy. But I do count Ms. Higman as a favorite. I have reviewed several of her books and look forward to more in the future.

 Today we’re looking at A Marriage in Middlebury which takes place in a small town and primarily at the local Tea Shop owned by spinster (in her 30s) Charlotte who is also the sweetheart of the small town.  Charlotte seems to have a special way of making life just a little better for each and every person she knows.  Open the book, turn the pages, and fall in love with Charlotte. The question is, “Why isn’t Charlotte married?”

 Another you’ll love is young Obie who is from a fractured family and whose troubles only begin once the book starts. So be prepared to open your heart a bit to him.

 As you meet each character, you discover bits and pieces about them and find that there are missed opportunities, secrets, and broken spirits that need healing.  As Anita Higman crafts her characters and weaves their stories toward the book's ending, you will most likely be surprised at just how it does end and at the secrets revealed.

 Friends, this is another Higman book I can recommend to you.

    I really don't know anyone like Charlotte, but she sounds like a loving, unique character.

      She is full of caring and loving and anyone would simply be blessed and happy to have her in their lives.

    The closest person to Charlotte that I know would have to be my mother. When anyone is ill, she takes in food and helps with their chores. She is pretty considerate of anyone she knows, family, neighbors, fellow church members, etc.

    Charlotte reminds me of a teacher I knew. She was a wonderful person and would do anything for anyone. She finally found the right man and married for the first time recently at age 40. Everyone was thrilled for her!

    Charlotte seem to really enjoy being with people and doing thing for them. She like to fix special tea for for the person personality, which would be a big hit.Thank you Vera. God blessings. I would like to win this book for a friend. It is a really great book.

    I have heard of people who knew Matchmakers, but I have not known anyone personally like Charlotte. Would love to win Anita's book. Thanks for the chance to do so. Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com

    I really cannot think of anyone in our community that is like Charlotte but isn't that why we read books about small towns? There are a lot of kids in our community from fractured families and according to the amazon reviews, there is a character in the story like this that is Charlotte's friend.

      Yes, there is a fractured (actually very broken) family and little Obie (I mentioned him in my review) is from that home. You'll love Obie.

    I enjoy a cup or more of tea everyday, my latest favorites lately have been Stash Chocolate Hazelnut tea and Bigelow Pumpkin Spice Tea and Guayaki Yerba Mate tea (original flavor)
    BUT
    my favorite tea memories are all the many tea parties I threw for our kids when they were growing up. Especially the themed ones like the Christmas tea party, both our 3 daughters and our 2 sons and their friends really enjoyed them and so did I. Our kids are all grown up on their own now and I am so glad I took the time to create these priceless memories with them!
